I thought I'd take a brief look at some of the new British rap and R&B releases which have surfaced in the last few weeks — here's your chance to discover your new fav artist! (these are all incomplete scribes, so @transcribers please feel free to help out)
I would mention the whole Chip/Yungen beef but there's already a wonderful thread on the go here which you can check out for that.
Ghetts
I'm proud to announce that Ghetts is now verified on Genius, and will be adding his new Daily Duppy lyrics shortly! Drop him a follow if you're a fan, and expect big tings from us in the future.
Kojey Radical – 23WINTERS (23rd Feb)
The multi-talented spoken word artist and rapper joins forces with Plan B's band member, New Machine, as well as the Wretch 32-approved singer Bobii Lewis, among others on this formidable ten-track EP, making his mark on the scene as one to watch.
Ms Banks – New Chapter EP (3rd Feb)
Fresh off the back of her Tinie Tempah feature at the end of last year, Banks strikes while the iron is hot, gliding over beats of all vibes and tempos. She proves her ability as a worthy singer as well as an impressive MC on this smooth eight-tracker.
Saskilla – Godson of Grime (26th Feb)
The Roll Deep associate releases a brand new album, featuring appearances from Wiley and Manga Saint Hilare among others, alongside his Chip disses from last year. Topics vary from religion to Muay Thai kicks, if you're into that.
Raleigh Ritchie – You're a Man Now, Boy (26th Feb)
Largely composed of previous singles, the Game of Thrones star releases his accomplished debut album. Having been billed 'one to watch' over the course of the last two years, this album's performance will undoubtedly be a defining moment in his ever-expanding career.
