ANNOUNCEMENT: Genius Lyric Messages Are Coming!

Nate from the Genius mobile team here. I wanted to give y'all an important heads up… We're really excited to announce a big new feature for our iOS app that's rolling out tomorrow. It's called Lyric Messages, and they're the best way to say what you mean with music (and yes, your favored selfie, we all have one).

But what even are Lyric Messages?

You can read more about them here, but trust me when I say it's going to make you super popular on iMessage.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so why not slap a few more on that? Simply select your favorite lyric, snap a pic, and share it with your world. Here's how this new universe of self-expression looks:

Our editors have even picked a set of messages for those times when you don't know what to say, but you know Rihanna totally does.

Wow, how do I get in on this?

First, you should already have the Genius iOS app installed! Don't hurt my feelings.
Then, download iOS 10 when it arrives (in case you missed the Apple event last week, it's widely available tomorrow, Tuesday, 9/13).
Boom, now you're ready to create your own Lyric Messages.

I don't use iMessage / I don't have any friends.

Doubt the latter is true, but if it is, don't stress. In addition to iMessage, you'll also be able to create Lyric Messages from any song page in the Genius app and share them on your socials (or simply save them in your camera roll for the perfect #moment).
We're really proud of Lyric Messages. We've been testing them out and sending them around to one another for a while, sometimes to insane effect, and at last we're ready to share them with you / the world.
