Transcription is one of, if not the most important part of Genius. The talented group of @transcribers have banded together to transcribe a remarkable amount of songs, all in record time. This is super valuable—if we don't have the lyrics up, nobody can annotate them!
Consequently, one of our most frequent requests has been to award transcription IQ. Although we've been doing this for some songs through our Scribe-A-Thon, it's never been built into the site. That changes today!!
Starting today, any song you add to Genius will give you 5 IQ!! While this might seem small, don't worry—that's only the beginning. After a song you transcribed accumulates pageviews you'll get even MORE IQ!
- 500 views = 20 IQ bonus (25 total)
- 1,000 views = 25 IQ bonus (50 total)
- 5,000 views = 50 IQ bonus (100 total)
- 10,000 views = 75 IQ bonus (175 total)
- 100,000 views = 125 IQ bonus (300 total)
- 500,000 views = 200 IQ bonus (500 total)
- 1,000,000 views = 500 IQ bonus (1,000 total)
- 2,000,000 views = 1,000 IQ bonus (2,000 total)
- 5,000,000 views = 2,000 IQ bonus (4,000 total)
Once a page you transcribed reaches a milestone, you'll get a notification that looks like this:
