If you watched tonight's MTV Video Music Awards, you were treated to countless performances and appearances. However, if you're an alternative fan, you may have noticed something missing: the winner of Best Rock Video.

As I type this, rock fans are attempting to get #FuckTheVMAs trending. Why, you may ask? As you may know, MTV started as a rock channel, and has now become a hub for pretty much anything but. Many fans are arguing that there was unnecessary commentary and too many performances, in addition to an arbitrary emphasis on pop and rap.

What do you guys think? Will you be joining the effort to get #FuckTheVMAs trending?
