Hey-o!

Here we are again for another installment of listening club! Seems like we're on a pop quest for now. You can check out the previous listening club here.

The dice chose @Aenex this time, who selected iamamiwhoami – kin. If you don't have access to a streaming service, you can listen here. kin is also an audiovisual series—you can check out the official videos here.

REMINDER: Make sure to post your thoughts if you want a chance to pick next week's album! If this is your first Listening Club, let me know and I'll add you to future tag walls.

Here's what @Aenex had to say about the album:

It's definitely one of my favourite albums of all time. kin is filled to the brim with dreamy electronica and synthpop, as well as the sweet vocals that Jonna Lee provides. Probably one of the coolest things about it is that it's an audiovisual album, that iamamiwhoami posted in chapters onto Youtube as soon as they finished each video. You can follow the story they tell both in the music and the visuals, which is about the relationship with their audience and the project itself. Their way of storytelling makes things feel a bit mysterious and liminal, especially in kin when it kind of transports you to another world.
