Debate of the Day [#158]: Is Yeezus an artistic masterpiece in disguise?

Yeezus is considered by many to be a very controversial album. Several fans felt disappointed upon its release (myself included), but later on down the line I came to a realization that this is an album that grows on you overtime. Although that may not be the same case for everybody, it was for me and I really like it a lot more now than I did when I first heard it. While few will argue that Yeezus is Kanye's best album, there are still people who defend it. Personally, I love the fuck out of the production on this album, the only main flaws that I have with the project is the lyrics. Some say that art can take several years to be appreciated for what it is, but is Yeezus art? Can it fall into that category?

Many will agree that music is subjective and that it's not necessarily something worth your time arguing about with others who don't share the same interests that you do, but I believe that certain aspects of music can be objective in a way.
