Debate of the Day [#151]: Do white people deserve the criticism they've received for "ruining" certain trends originally coined by black people?

While I can easily understand why some people would feel annoyed by things supposedly being "ruined" for them, I think a lot of people are overall overdramatic about the entire situation in general. Is not being able to say "basic bitch" anymore because people outside of your demographic are saying it now really that big of a deal? Why are people acting like trends are so valuable in the first place when most of them die off on their own in less than 5 years anyway? I'm not saying cultural appropriation is completely false, but where do we draw the line here?

And of course let's not forget (or maybe we should) the infamous Buzzfeed article
