20 years ago today, Mariah Carey's "Always Be My Baby" hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is quintessential Mariah—it's a perfect pop song with a catchy hook and those iconic "do-do-do's." But it turns out, Carey was originally hoping to go more hip-hop on Daydream.
