Genius Dream Album Contest

Hey all!

Remember when @bfred got his A&R on and created that epic (but sadly imaginative) Andre 3000 album, or when @clovito did the same for Frank Ocean? Well, now it's your chance to do the same with another long awaited or rumored album that never materialized.

What you do

Create an album for an artist(s) of your choosing (any genre but must be alive) and include the following:

• Artist(s)

• Album name

• Executive producer(s)

• Track titles with tracklisting. (Intros, outros, skits, and interludes are included)

• Features

• Song credits: writers, producers, instrumentalists—you may include engineers too

• Place of recording

• Sample/interpolation credits (when applicable)

• Label details (i.e, Future appears courtesy of Freebandz/Epic)

Fine print

• Maximum 2 primary album artists

• Minimum 8 tracks, maximum 14 tracks

• Must be an album, not a mixtape or EP

• Fantasy is OK, but your album should be believable. Featuring Drake, Kanye West, Jay Z, and Nas on every song isn't believable so you probably won't win!

• Must be a long awaited, or rumored album that never materialized. Doing a Kanye West album will be cool, but you probably won't win because he just released one.

Check out this post to see how to format your entry, and for those with the skills, here is a PSD to create an album cover and tracklist with. If you don't know how to use Photoshop, that's OK. We won't be judging that. If your post wins we'll create one for you.

How you win

First place: Your dream album published on Genius + Genius swag pack (t-shirt, stickers, etc) + Surprise prize based on the artist you wrote about (vinyl, concert tickets, merch, etc).

Second place: Your dream album published on Genius + Genius swag pack (t-shirt, stickers, etc) + 3 months free streaming on your preferred streaming service, valued at up to $30.

How you submit

Submit your entry (one per user) by creating a song page using the artist "Genius Dream Album" with the title "Dream album: [artist name] by [username]" and add it to this album. Here's an example page. Entries close Friday May 27th 11:59pm EST.

If you would like your page to be hidden, post it below or ask a moderator/staff member to hide it. Feel free to release your album early and annotate it so people can react to it—good reactions may impact the judges decision! The winners will be chosen by @Michael, @bfred, @TheScrivener, @YoungJFK, @RobMarkman, and @AndreTorres.
