NEW UPDATES—Transcription credit + Notifs

Hey all! We just released two new transcription updates! These updates are designed to help us push for the best, most accurate lyrics on every song.

Notifications

We used to weed out minor lyric edits from notifications, but not any more! From now on if you follow or have majority transcription credit on a song, you'll receive a notification for EVERY lyric edit, regardless of how big or small it is!

We want our transcribers to know if something changed, both so they can learn from any mistakes they made and so they can ensure that inaccurate edits don't mess up a good transcription. People mean well but sometimes they make mistakes! We want to catch them sooner. Not when someone tweets about a bad transcription.

This is going to lead to a lot of notifs for some transcribers—we think that's important so that we can keep our transcriptions accurate. Do give us feedback though—it's hard to find the right balance between too many and too few notifs about transcription and right now we really want to prioritize accuracy.

Credit system

Ever look to see who transcribed a song and see something like this and wonder, "Where's the other 7%"?????

We used to hide users from this section if they had less than 10% of the song's overall transcription credit, but not any more! Now all users with 1% or more will be visible:

Now users who provided smaller (but crucial!) edits will get the credit and IQ they deserve!
